Arielle Zionts hosts this week's episode of The Interchange, which originally aired April 7, 2013. Featured stories include the international news headlines of the week with Kevin Tidmarsh on his Weekly World Review. Next we turn to my series Discussing Differences where I interview Mia Mingus, a disability justice activist and Robin Brody, the president of Active Minds, a mental health advocacy and education club. We then hear story produced by Justyna Bicz about various students’ childhood love for, and violence towards their stuffed bigbirds. Finally, Warren Szewczyk and Zain Soofi interview Tamiko Chicone, the pastor of social justice at the Pomona First Baptist Church. Chicone speaks about her group Traffic Free Pomona which works to end local and global human trafficking. We end our show with prerecorded poems by Jacob Balthazor and Nora DeMuth.
