Episode 1.9: Season Finale


In the final episode of the Interchange for the semester, Bottom Line Theatre presents a radio adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Next Kip White and Chris Leon discuss composting at the Claremont Colleges. Finally, we present Scavengers, a piece by William K Behr from earlier in the year on the ethics of scavenging cans and bottles for their redemption value.

Episode 1.8

Finals week is fast approaching at the Claremont Colleges, so Justyna Bicz leads us in a ten-minute meditation exercise meant to relax and energize the stressed student population. Later in the show,  David Scott asks Pomona College and KSPC Alum Randy Fischer about his experience working at KSPC in its days as a fledgling station on the FM band in the 50s and 60s. The interview was conducted as a part of the Bureau of Experimental Speech and Holy Theses at Pomona College.

Episode 1.7

Chiara Dorigo interviews Wanda Gibson of Pomona College’s Career Development Office on the transition between college and career. Then, Chris Leon presents a story about his father, dealing with loss, and coming to terms with the grieving process. Later, Justyna Bicz interviews artist Adam Overton about the exhibition entitled “The Bureau of Experimental Speech and Holy Theses” currently on display at the Pomona College Museum of Art. Archived clips from KSPC’s past reveal how news and reporting was undertaken on the station in its early days. And finally, Ann Kirkpatrick presents a short report on the process of getting a student visa in order to study abroad in Spain.
